Board Casting Call

Due to the popularity of dodgeball and Alan Caskey taking his talents to Philadelphia at the end of our current kickball season, we are currently seeking applications for open Board positions.

All positions will be effective after election by the Board of Directors (with the exception of Kickball Coordinator, which will go into effect on June 5th) and will serve out terms through December 31, 2023. Interviews will begin in April.

Position About the Role
Community Engagement Coordinator

Identifies opportunities for Stonewall members to engage in our communities through service and recruits and leads those activities as a member of our Events team. As part of the Events team, this role provides opportunities for members to get involved in the communities in which we operate. This person will:

  • Identify opportunities for volunteer work
  • Build relationships with local organizations seeking volunteers
  • Recruit volunteers for events
  • Plan event logistics and communicate to volunteers
  • Track hours of service completed by Stonewall Sports Boston members for reporting
Dodgeball Coordinator

Handle the day-to-day and season-by-season logistics of their respective sports including communication, scheduling, and set-up and tear-down on game days as part of a team. This person runs the best possible league for their sport. The league coordinator is the head person in charge of the league and is responsible for organizing every part of the league and asking for support from the greater organization.

  • Act as the face of the league to captains and players
  • Determine dates for season w/ Commissioner
  • Run Registration w/ Operations
  • Coordinate equipment storage/portapotties w/ Operations
  • Update rules as needed
  • Coordinate setup and tear down of the sport
Kickball Coordinator
At-Large Board Member

Provide unique insights and perspectives from voices otherwise under-represented on our Stonewall Board. Aside from voting and attending monthly Board duties, this role depends on the capacity and interest of the At-Large Board Member. Ensure a diverse group of voices are included in decision-making for Stonewall Sports Boston. All efforts to ensure diverse representation across all Board, Executive Committee, Sport and Operational Coordinator roles should be made.

  • At-Large Board members should provide additional representation for groups who are under-represented on the Stonewall Sports Boston Board of Directors, including but not limited to: race, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, family/parental status, and sport participation.
  • At-Large Board members shall be expected to attend monthly board meetings.
